The travel insurance provides for the insurance against possible circumstances during the travel of the citizen outside the country, compensation for material and moral damage. The insurance payment on the travel insurance is able to be made on a number of circumstances. This includes full or partial compensation of the insured’s expenses in case of his/ her illness within the country and during a trip outside the country, compensation of necessary medical expenses related to the health impairment as a result of an accident, full or partial compensation for other losses incurred during the travel, mentioned in the insurance agreement.
In accordance with the article 13 of current law “On tourism” (law of June 4, 1999), the tourists are insured against sudden illnesses and accidents. The insurance certificate is to be drawn up in Azerbaijani and in official language of the country or countries which the tourists are travelling to. The travel insurance, the article 12 of the law says that the tourists travelling to a country (place) with a risk of infectious diseases are to undergo proper medical examination and vaccination against dangerous infectious diseases in accordance with international medical requirements.
