The number of foreigners and stateless persons who visited Azerbaijan in January of this year was 172,614.
According to the State Statistical Committee, 65.6% of visitors to Azerbaijan (113,216 people) came for tourism purposes, and 34.4% (59,358 people) came for other purposes.
In January of this year, those who visited Azerbaijan for tourism purposes spent a total of 205 million 613.4 thousand manats.
It should be noted that the tourists who spent the most money during the reporting period were citizens of Russia, India, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Kuwait.
Thus, Russian citizens spent 48.2 million manats, Indian citizens spent 34.4 million manats, Turkish citizens spent 23.3 million manats, Saudi Arabian citizens spent 12.1 million manats, UAE citizens spent 11.4 million manats, Pakistani citizens spent 9 million manats, and Kuwaiti citizens spent 7.8 million manats.
