Saudi Arabian officials have announced the start of construction on another facility on the Red Sea coast, aiming to turn the oil-rich desert kingdom into a paradise for tourists.
That the Laheq resort, designed by the British studio Foster + Partners, is called the "Eternal Garden" due to its lush greenery and will encompass an archipelago of 90 islands located in the west of the country.An artificial circular structure with a diameter of 800 meters will be built in the center of the resort, which will cover an area of 400 hectares. Luxury apartments, hotels, shopping centers, entertainment areas, golf courses and marinas for yachts will be built here.
The Laheq resort is planned to be operational by 2028.
