Tourism, including rural tourism, is rapidly developing as a leading sector of the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan. Now, both local and foreign tourists are increasingly interested in living and relaxing in rural houses. One of such recreation areas is the Goygol region.
Along with its fascinating nature, Goygol is also rich in historical and cultural monuments. These monuments reflect different periods of history and preserve the national, spiritual and cultural values of our people. 32 local and national historical monuments of importance have been registered in the district. 9 of them are archaeological, and the rest are architectural monuments. By the way, it should be noted that Goygol district is located in the west of Azerbaijan, in the mountainous and foothill zone. Its highest peak is 3724 meters above sea level. The district, which has unique nature, rich flora and fauna, has wide opportunities for rural tourism. That is why in recent years, many events have been held here to develop rural tourism.
As is known, rural tourism mainly refers to service activities for temporary living in a rural environment. For the local population living in the village, this type of activity is intended as an alternative activity without affecting their main profession. In addition, rural tourism is also considered an important tool in promoting the traditions, cuisine and other cultural and household areas of the region. The most important point is that people get away from the noisy urban environment, temporarily live and relax in rural houses located in the bosom of nature, and eat ecologically clean food products.
From this point of view, the villages of the Goygol region are more convenient for tourists. Therefore, on hot summer days, countless people relax in Chaykend, Shariyar, Yeni Zod, Ashiqly, Toganali and other villages located near the Goygol National Park. Ashiqly is one of the hospitable villages. The village has a population of more than 2,500 people. Located only 5 kilometers from the district center, the village is provided with all kinds of infrastructure. The asphalt road, water, gas, and electricity supply are at a high level. When entering the village, the first thing that makes one hungry is the aroma of tandoori bread, qutabs, and ketas baked on the roadside.
There are many recreation centers operating in the village. Since Ashiqly, which has more than 400 farms, is located on the road to Hajikend and Goygol, people prefer to stay here. Therefore, every homeowner who receives tourists carries out current repairs to their rented house before each season, creating the necessary conditions for the comfort of tourists. The rental fee is not too high - 20-30 manats per day.
