Gakh is one of the regions in our country with great potential for the development of tourism. It has a mild and pure mountain climate, rich mineral healing springs, and mysterious nature.
Every corner of this land with ancient history and culture is a real vacation spot for tourists. In this sense, the city of Gakh, distinguished by its neatness, greenery, and historical and architectural style, and the ancient village of Ilisu, nestled in the mountains of the Greater Caucasus, constantly attract the attention of local and foreign tourists.

Located on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, every street, corner, and alley of this ancient city opens up to a different view. The works carried out in the local architectural style arouse the interest of those who see them.
The “Icheribazar” Tourism and Cultural Center, established in the ancient historical quarter of the city of Gakh, has become a real recreation center for visitors to the region. The gates and walls of the Castle, a 16th-century architectural monument, are located in the center of the city. Caravans once passed through here, and it was also an ancient trading center. In fact, the people of Gakh call this place Icheribazar.
A 300-seat open-air theater has been created on the territory of the complex based on a perfect project, and 10 workshops for artists have been built, including applied arts, woodcarving, weaving, Oriental sweets, and a tandoor. The applied arts sales center operating here exhibits national souvenirs, paintings and graphics, woodcarvings, stone carvings, woven products, and souvenir carpets made by local artists.
One of the first places that local and foreign tourists visit when visiting Gakh is the ancient village of Ilisu. This village is rich in its flora and fauna, as well as historical and architectural monuments. The "Ilisu" State Historical and Cultural Reserve has been operating for more than 20 years in order to preserve the historical heritage and pass it on to future generations.
The Sumug Castle, Ulu Korpu, Ulu Mosque, Qalacha, Qala Complex, Jinli Castle, and epigraphic monuments that have survived to this day in Ilisu have found their place in the glorious pages of the heroic history of this ancient village.
