The hidden treasure of Azerbaijan

The Seven Domes Tombs complex in Shamakhi is considered a hidden treasure of Azerbaijan.

The complex is a rare example of Azerbaijani architecture from the 19th century. The seven domes are not just a collection of tombs built of stone, but also a historical inscription about the family and descendants of the Shirvan Khan Mustafa Khan. The seven tombs included in the complex were built in 1816-1865. The tombs are octagonal in shape and built of hewn stones in accordance with Azerbaijani architectural traditions.

The tombs here commemorate the names of Mustafa Khan's mother, Bibikhanim Bey, the khan's wives, Asiya Bey and Khan Bike, and his son, Azad Khan. One of the tombs immortalizes the name of master Tagi. This is a clear example of the high respect shown to architectural art and craftsmen at that time.

The complex of seven dome tombs is of great interest from both an architectural and historical perspective. It is an interesting place to visit not only for historians, but also for tourists who want to get to know the ancient heritage of Shamakhi.
