Azerbaijan is preparing for COP29
Tourism and climate change are on the agenda
The delegation of the State Tourism Agency participated in the 9th meeting of the Tourism Ministers of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (TST) and the 19th meeting of the Working Group on Tourism held on September 25 in the city of Jalal-Abad of the Kyrgyz Republic.
That within the framework of the meeting, extensive information was given about the Union of Ski Resorts, which was created on the initiative of the Azerbaijani side, and other TDT countries were invited to join the union, which currently has 4 countries (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan).
Speaking at the 9th meeting of the Ministers of Tourism, Kanan Guluzadeh, the adviser to the chairman of the State Tourism Agency, gave detailed information to the event participants that our country will host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in November of this year.
He emphasized that for the first time the theme of tourism was integrated into the COP29 thematic program and November 20 was designated as "Tourism Day".
The tourism ministers of the member states were invited to the "1st high-level meeting of ministers on improved climate action in the field of tourism" to be organized within the framework of "Tourism Day"
